As part of the California Labor Commissioner’s OfficeReaching Every Californian Outreachinitiative, LCO is building relationships with community leaders who serve as trusted bridges to workers and communities that may face barriers to accessing workplace protections.
In partnership with ValorUS® (VALOR), the Labor Commissioner’s Office invites you to a virtual training on the California Equal Pay Act.
Date: Thursday, December 10, 2026
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Virtual
Registration: https://dir-ca-gov.zoom.us/meeting/register/YeE4jdC3RBuHMj24BWcjiA
In this training, participants will learn:
- Key protections provided by California’s Equal Pay Act.
- How the Equal Pay Act complaint and investigation process works.
- Practical information and best practices to help workers understand and access these protections.
California’s Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying employees less than employees of another sex, race, or ethnicity for substantially similar work, subject to limited lawful reasons for pay differences. California law also protects workers from retaliation for exercising rights under the Act.
Understanding the law is the first step. Knowing how to access its protections helps turn those rights into meaningful protections for workers and their communities.
Please forward to others who may be interested in attending this virtual training.
